The federal regulatory scheme
is based on a policy of "full and fair disclosure": that is, on the
assumption that if all investors share all the information material
to an investment transaction, the economic laws governing the
public trading of securities on the open market will act
effectively and efficiently to allocate investment resources in the
greater public interest. As a matter of economics, this assumption
is, to some degree, questionable; but as a matter of regulation, it
does operate to discourage the more obvious sorts of stock market
fraud.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I've been tracking the bill and unfortunately it looks like it's still stuck in committee at this time. But I will update as soon as I find out if/when there's been a change in its status.

I've been interested in taxes for longer then I care to admit, both on the personal side (all my employed life!!) and from a legal viewpoint since passing the bar and pursuing tax law. I've provided a lot of advice and corrected a lot of wrongs, and I must say that what you've put up makes perfect sense. Please carry on the good work - the more people know the better they'll be equipped to handle with the tax man, and that's what it's all about.

I didn't know this, but glad I found it... I really wasn't looking forward to itemizing and all that. I also didn't know about the start-up deduction. Good stuff, but I hope things "un-stall"..

Keep it up, I just became a subscriber...
