Tony Baird specializes in consumer class actions, employment litigation, insurance bad faith litigation, and catastrophic injury cases. He has represented employees, insureds, consumers, and the injured in cases throughout California as well as across the country. During the course of his career, he has helped obtain in excess of $75 million on behalf of his clients. In addition to his other trials, he was a member of the legal team that obtained the largest verdict of its type in a case where a child was blinded as a result of improper neonatal care. Tony also is a frequent lecturer on the topics of insurance bad faith and consumer class actions. He has contributed to practice handbooks dealing with insurance bad faith and class actions.
Tony obtained his law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law, graduating cum laude. He was a staff writer for the Pepperdine Law Review and the recipient of the Dean’s, President’s, and Howard A. White Scholarships. He graduated from Pepperdine University, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He studied abroad during college, spending one year in Heidelberg, Germany, and two summers in Honduras, working with a third world medical project. Tony currently serves on the board of Predisan, USA, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing free to low cost healthcare to the citizens of Honduras. Tony is a member of the California Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Central, and Southern Districts of California.
